Family Gathering
I have been busy. One mom said to me... You don't keep up with your blog, when you start getting serious about it let me know. I have four kids, a husband and a bunch of critters to care for, blogging is last on my mind somedays! I wish I had a delete button for real life situations. The insensitive comments from others and maybe the insensitive comments I make.
I spent Saturday with family.
Grandma is shrinking or the Grandbabies are growing. They are so excited they are taller than my Mama!
We couldn't spend the whole weekend because we have critters to care for. Luckily I have good neighbors who said they would feed and water them all while we were gone.
She did a great job and said she enjoyed it too! Hmmm will definitely keep her in mind the next time we need to be gone.
It is times like this weekend that I sometimes wish we had the freedom to come and go, but in long term, I'm glad we have the life we do.
I ordered essential oils from Mountain Rose Herbs. As soon as I get them I'm making the salve. I still need to get lye for soap making. My Mama bought me an immersion blender so I could make my soap. I LOVE my Mama.
I have been crocheting dishcloths everynight. I find crocheting so relaxing I'll post pics of them later. I need to do more work on embroidery...but I have to think doing that!
Hubby is working later this week so I may have more time to blog!

I understand how you feel! Responsibilities must come first when you have children and a farm. That is just a reality!
ReplyDeleteAs for that delete button, please share with me when you figure that one out! I want one too!
Always good to get together with family, good to see you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteIm with ya on "the work/responsibilities" are an ongoing fact of life in any home and especially homesteading. Sometimes I've thought "enough already" or "can we handle one more thing". Reality is, I wouldn't have it any other way. Yes, it's hard work but 'anything good' requires much. That which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger, is what my DH likes to say :)
Oh sweetie, this is one Ozark Farm Chick who hears ya loud and clear. Heck, I took the whole stinkin' summer off.
ReplyDeleteThe farm is such a busy place all year round but summers especially. I got overwhelmed and just dropped out. I had tons of family stuff on top of the Ponderosa.
You hang in there sweetie and always choose 'real' life 'cause families are just precious treasures. Take it from an old chick.
From the happy hills and hollers of the Missouri Ponderosa, ya'll have a beautiful day now...ya hear???
